Cell and Gene Expression Analysis
Instruments in the Cell and Gene Expression Core Facility
Agilent Seahorse XF Pro Analyzer
This device measures and reports the oxygen consumption rate (OCR), Proton efflux rate (PER), or extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) as well as ATP production rates of live cells in a 96-well format. Featuring low-rate OCR precision, temperature control, and automation; this device provides measurements allowing a systems-level view of cellular metabolic function in cultured cells and ex vivo samples.
Standardized workflows and data analytics are available in the Agilent Seahorse Analytics software.
Visium CytAssist
This compact instrument is designed to simplify the Visium workflow by facilitating the transfer of transcriptomic probes from standard glass to Visium slides, enabling whole transcriptomic spatial profiling across the entire tissue section. This allows expanded compatibility with FFPE and/or FF samples.
10x Genomics Chromium Single Cell Gene Expression
This device provides single-cell transcriptome 3' gene expression with multiomic capabilities allowing profiling of tens of thousands of cells (including cellular heterogeneity, novel targets, and biomarkers with combined gene expression, surface protein expression, or CRISPR edits in each cell). The Chromium Single Cell Gene Expression allows the identification and characterization of rare cell types and biomarkers, or the examination of therapeutic mechanisms of action on a cell-by-cell basis.
Able to partition 500 - 10,000 cells per channel, allowing up to 80,000 cells per run, no lower limits to cell size, and with doublet rates of 0.8% per 1000 cells.
Forms, Pricing, Scheduling, and Training
Forms
All Principle Investigators (PI) must complete the User Agreement Form before using any Research Core equipment.
Pricing Schedule
Click Here to view our current rate sheet. Contact Mary Hamer with any questions on specific equipment.
Assisted support is available for some instruments at an additional cost.
Scheduling
To schedule on equipment, contact Mary Hamer at SOMResearchCore@medsch.ucr.edu
Safety training is required for all instruments and will be addressed after the project form has been submitted and accepted.
Training
All potential users are required to complete the General SOM Training Modules.
Upon completion of all training modules, please send a copy of the transcript to SOMResearchCore@medsch.ucr.edu. After transcript review, you will be contacted to schedule a hands-on training session or validation.
Notification of access to the facility will be sent to both the PI and the user.
